We spent 2 nights boondocking in Quartzsite about 1 hour from Yuma. This is one of Vince and Kim’s favorite places. They love the vibe of this town. It’s their happy place.
We visited the Naked Guy bookstore. He ran the store and only wore a marble bag. He did pass away a couple of years ago, and his daughter (who was fully clothed) runs it now.
There are flea market’s everywhere down here. A giant garage sale. I took the below picture and an owner of the stall (if you zoom in on the picture, he is standing by Kim) came at me telling me NO PICTURES. I offered to delete it, but he just gave me the middle finger wave. This encounter was my first bad experience on our trip. We all looked for a ‘no picture’ sign but there wasn’t one. I think Kim said it right: He seems very paranoid and acting like he is on something or it’s time for his fix.
We weren’t here for the large RV sale that happens toward the end of January, and at one time we were considering coming back for it to experience the trailer community in the open desert but are unsure now. We may just start to make our way to Texas. We will see where the wind takes us.
Go to the dunes. Rent a dune buggy. It is EPIC!! You are not too far from there.????
Dune buggies in Quartzsite or Yuma?
In Yuma
Thank you who ever you are. We will definitely do that!
