Laureen and Kim enjoyed Dollywood. Vince took the day to catch up on a project he is involved in. Mark took the day to do some vehicle maintenance and enjoy some downtime.
Dollywood is a theme park with lots and lots of roller coasters, music and her history. It is set up like a town and countryside like she grew up around.
Church
The average age of the visitors was 65-70 but the park does have children’s rides and games. One day wasn’t enough to see everything but we got a good taste of it. We rode the train which travels around the park, and you get to see the entire park without walking it. You could pick and choose the areas that you want to see.
The musical talent is supreme. Different groups, bands and shows played throughout the day while you could look at the sites, browse the shops and eat healthy or fun food ????.
The one and only roller coaster we rode. Not the one above, but the one below. It was fun.
Dolly’s first bus
Replica of her childhood home.
This is rated the number 1 theme park show in North America – the Dreamland Drive Inn.
Country Music thru the years.
A Brighter Day (Gospel)
Harmonies of the Heart. Laureen’s favorite!
Dolly’s nieces. They have amazing voices.
Birds of Prey
Bloom. Flowers grew and came to life interrupted by dance and acrobatics.
The grounds change with the 4 seasons. We were there during spring so the plants, etc reflected that.
I loved the memory garden
The shops were mostly like tourist shops, except Dolly’s Closet. Her style of clothing in all sizes. Yep, Laureen tried on a pair of jeans but didn’t like the boot cut.
Some of the clothes were made in Canada.
The prices for everything were very reasonable. They didn’t gouge you, which was a delightful surprise.
Goodbye Dollywood, you were delightful ❤
Another place I’d enjoy. You are a great tour guide.
