Appomattox Court House National Park, April 28th

On our way to Richmond, VA we stopped by the Appomattox Court House to see where General Lee signed the surrender agreement with General Grant.  The only thing I really remembered from Social Studies class was the Silent Witness.  I was quite excited to see the original Silent Witness doll.

A piece of the original towel was used as a surrender truce flag.
This is where the document was signed.  Didn’t know the North were so respectful to the South Soldiers.
This was where the doll was sitting (Silent Witness).

This was the icehouse.
