New York City, Day 2 (May 14)

We started our day off going to Canal Street to shop for knock-off purses, sunglasses, watches, etc.

Little Italy was wonderful.
We rode in a taxi cab.
TV in cab
We rode the subway.
Toured Grand Central Station.
Wanted to go to the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building but rain and fog deterred us. We had fun though.

Cool stuff.

Broadway Play.
Come From Away. We thought it would be a good one to see since we will be heading to Gander Newfoundland.
The play is about the planes that landed in Gander during the 9/11 terrorist attack. The play was great, with a lot of Canadian humour and a good summary of what happened in Gander during the 9/11 attack.
More neat New York things.
Having a Manhattan in Manhattan.  New York cheesecake.
Hmmm, which beer? 260 to choose from.
Macy’s department store.
Some famous person lives here. I can’t remember who, so you choose ????
We only had a few days in the area since we wanted to be in Boston when the Red Sox played.  I definitely would have loved more time in NYC.  We won’t say goodbye, we’ll say “Till next time”.
